I have been ttc for 5 months. I miscarried a few months ago very early on. I have noticed a spot a few days before my period starts and it begins about 10 days past O. I was thinking of taking progesterone cream to stop the spotting and lenghten the luteal phase. I am worried that it could have an adverse affect. Any thoughts? or suggestions?

It does sound like you have a short luteal phase. If it were me I would get a bottle of Natural Progesterone Cream, walmart has one that is good, rexall brand. You will need to chart BBT and when you see the temp rise after O start using the NPC that evening. Use it for 14 days then take a HPT. If neg, stop using the NPC and let AF come.

try clomid I had the same thing my period would start 8-10 dpo. Also I would not ovulate until cd 18. I would get preg. and m/c too because by the time I should have had implantation my body would trigger my period to come on. I took progesterone during one pregnancy and m/c at 9 weeks so I did not want to try progesterone again. Clomid helped by resetting my ovulation day back to day 14. Also it made my eggs very mature, also clomid attaches to the receptors in the brain that tell the body that estrogen & progesrone are low. Your body in turn makes very high amounts of estrogen which helps speed up egg maturation. Then the progestone kicks in to make the blood lining in the uterus think and strong to prepare for implantation. I did not even need progestrone after taking Clomid my levels stayed nice and high the whole time. Now I'm 22 weeks along. It helped me the 1st time I ever used it after TTC for a year and 3 misccariges. Think it's worth a try
