You are right. I do not know why. They just about covered every other topic on this show. An uncle rapping and pregnanting his own niece-and her mom and dad having the child think she was a sister (I am talking about Kat). Sonja being a mother at 16 (who wasn't?), killings, murders, drug use, Mark with HIV, spousal abuse, you name it.
You would think they would have a storyline featuring a gay couple (male or female) with a child with an opposite sex as its aunt or uncle, living together in a flat. The aunt/uncle lives on the bottom floor or whatever and the gay couple raising their son/daughter and the ignorant racists and other problems/trials/obstacles they go through as being a great family. No strings attached. No mystery or secret flings, nothing.
Why can't there be a loving gay couple who is very family oriented, living on Albert Square and being hard working, everyday citizens?
Hopefully, the producers will get off their a-s-s and write something decent about this topic.

I would have thought that Sean in Corrie was enough for fans of the soapie sweeties. What is Easterners by the way....a soap series set in Southall Broadway ? On the subject of which, you don't seem to get many gay sikhs and ghurkas coming out of the closet do you ?

I hope you mean EastEnders as I've not heard of Easterners on tv. There are no gays at the moment.

They have no same sex couples and anyone struggling with their sexuality. To be a believable soap, they need to run issues like that. Things like contraceptives and a hard hitting under age drinking story. If they dont, they should move Neighbours & home and away to the prime time, they're storys are more hard hitting.

They had Sonia and Naomi not long ago and there was Tony and Simon before that. Both of them relationships had alot of drama and one person in each was bi-sexual or confused. About time tey had a normal gay couple.

there are no gay couples cos the story lines are a load of crap and it makes the actors miserable, so they cant be gay.
