I need to raise money for an attorney's retainer. I need to do so today. I guess I need a credit card. Any info on how to get one that fast would be greatly appreciated. Please help, my ex is withholding my son until court. I thought we were both pro-se but got her cross motion from an attorney. Now I'm short on time & cash.

Many attorneys will accept credit cards (but not all). Others may work out payment plans - but for a retainer, ordinarily, you'll need to put up some cash.

The retainer is the deposit to cover the estimated fee for the lawyers time, and legal costs of the action.

If you don't have the full amount of the retainer immediately, most lawyers will work out a payment plan with you.
