i just finished it...and i thought the ending was really really HAPPY....knowing jk...i thought she was gonna go 4 something darker...but it was really saccharine sweet...i mean harry defeats voldemort....gets married 2 ginny....ron and hermione...then their kids go 2 hogwarts and stuff...i mean idk...im not really complaining cuz i dont think i would have been happy without a happy ending...but it was a bit 2 fairy-tale like...but i am all 4 a reunion book, where she tells where everyone else is doing now...that would be awesome!!!!

Neville was a Griffindore and only a "true" Griffindore could pull the sword from the hat. Griphook was NOT a Grinffindore and the sword returned to where it belonged (yup, magic!) Not all Death Eaters were killed. They were sent to Azkaban (no Dementors but it's still a prison). The Malfoys wormed their way out of prison, again, by saying that they were on Harry's side because of what they did at the end. JK did an interview for Muggle Net and explained that. Bellatrix wasn't the last of the Death Eaters but she was definitely the most loyal and the closest and Highest ranking (liutenent) to Voldemort. The blonde guy was the man that Dumbledore defeated in the duel to get the elder wand. It was Grindelwald.

Yeah like a wedding for Harry and Ginny, and one for Ron and Hermione. And a funeral for Mad-Eye, Fred, Lupin, and Tonks.

One thing I did like was the full-circle: the series ending (pretty much) right where it began, with 1st year students geting on the ttrain to Hogwarts.

I liked it - especially the very last chapter. I thought the book could have been about 100 pages shorter though, but that's looking at it from an adult's perspective. (Kids don't always infer what I would infer to certain things.)

i thought it was great! it was the most ideal and picturesque ending i could have imagined. i also thought it was cool because it kind of left the fate of the main character's children open ended so that a further book could be published even though that is highly unlikely.

i think it was PERFECT! snape was really good and i knew harry potter was a horcrux! ron and hermoinie ended up together and so did harry and ginny.fred dies and so does lupin and tonks and mad eye and all the other good people but they didnt die in vain and thats what matters.it was the BEST book out of all and will be a really great movie.

the ending was a bit too short for me and I never really thought that Ginny and Harry made a good couple so i was a bit disappointed about that

i guess i think she may have rushed the whole thing a bit...after reading it the second time i am more satistfied with it, however, i cannot get over Severus Snape's death and i think that, even though it needed to happen, the fact that Snape died has tainted my view of the series!

It's only two days after the release -- give it a rest and let people have some time to finish the book.
