Most often women notice the veins on their breasts getting darker after about 2 weeks after conception. The nipple and areola begin to get darker and bigger from 2 weeks after conception or anytime during the pregnancy. The darkening of the veins is from the increased blood flow. The darkening of the nips and areola is from the high levels of progesterone during pregnancy. It will fade some after you give birth but it will stay dark if you breastfeed. It is thought that the darkening is to help a breastfed baby see the nipple easier.

I noticed within, a week of conception. Its not you bbs that darken though...its your nipples, your bbs get more veiny looking. I dont know why they darken but I think its a hormonal reaction.
