I only gained about 18 pounds with my first, that is no indication of size of baby, my daughter was 8 1/4 pounds! I think that I had a lot of times I didn't look due, but other days I looked overdue. Depends on the way the baby is sitting. If your doctor is not concerned, than I wouldn't be either. There are plenty of people in this world that never even look pregnant. There was this lady I worked with, and found out that she had had a baby and I just about keeled over dead...had no idea she was pregnant, and I had just seen her a couple of weeks before. She wasn't a fat woman, just a little more on the big-boned side...but still...didn't look like there was a baby in her belly, she didn't look big enough!!!!!

If something like dwarfism was an issue, the doctor would have told you. I am sure the baby is fine! Consider yourself lucky, you wont have a lot to loose after the baby is born! I would be so grateful to have only gained 19 lbs! With my son I gained 90lbs (which was fine because I am 5'9 129lbs, and now with this pregnancy I have already gained 15lbs and I am only 14wks 5days! Another great thing about not gaining much, is you can bring you favorite pre-pregnancy jeans and probably wear them after she is born! A huge congratulations!

If your doctor is not concerned, dont worry yourself. My sister in law was small when she was carrying her first little girl. People can be so rude, some even insisted she was going to have a low birth weight baby and other nonsense, but my niece was born as healthy as could be and was a normal weight. Some people are just built that way.

Just because you've only gained 19 pounds doesnt mean your baby is small, your only supposed to gain between 20-25 pounds anyways, just because everyone else gains a lot because they eat everything in sight and dont care how much they gain doesnt mean your baby is small, if it was too small the doctor would tell you.

don't worry! i was just like you! couldn't even tell at 9 months! you baby could be small or not! My baby was 5.5 and was healthy as can be and she was 3 weeks early! Some other people are huge and baby is only 6pounds ! you should be fine! don't worried unless the doctor has concerns!

How much you gain, has nothing to do with the baby weight. my sister in law just had twins, she only gained 25lbs, the boy was 7lbs and the girl was 5.2....that's about 12lbs of baby. Some people just gain more during pregnancy than others.

I am 22 weeks pregnant and you cant even tell that I am pregnant and I was also like that with my first two pregnancies. It's just how you carry the baby.

Even a small baby can be fully developed and healthy.

I always had HUGE babies, but my cousin actually lost 20lbs when she was pregnant and still delivered a healthy 6lb baby boy...
