The Yankees won 3 straight to end the '98 ALCS, swept the World Series, swept the '99 Division Series, then won the first 2 ALCS games, for a total of 12. Sorry, Sox fans, but you lose again.

in one placed up season it particularly is 8 as completed via the 2004 purple Sox and 2005 White Sox. Edit: In consecutive placed up seasons it particularly is surely 12 (no longer 9 as I had previously stated) completed via the Yankees from 1998 to 1999.

In one post season it is 8 as done by the 2004 Red Sox and 2005 White Sox.
Edit:
In consecutive post seasons it is actually 12 (not 9 as I had previously stated) done by the Yankees from 1998 to 1999.

Didn't you just ask this? I'll copy my previous answer.
The Yankees won 12 consecutive, sweeping in three straight World Series appearances in 1927, 1928, and 1932. That streak ended in the first game of the 1936 Series. They equaled that mark in the late 1990s. The Yankees also had a 10-game streak in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

More recently, the Red Sox and White Sox both had 8-game streaks, which had been done previously by the mid-70s Reds.

if i am not mistaken its the Boston Red Sox from a few years ago. When they came back against the Yankees from being down by 3 games and went onto to sweep the Cardinals in the Wold Series. They won 8 straight. I am pretty sure that is the record.
