Or are we listening to Politicians?

Do you think Elections are just necessary inconveniences for them, or opportunities for them to connect with their constituents?

Politicians listen to the voters - mostly in the form of polls, and of communications coming into thier offices from 'concerned' constituents. They don't listen to them in the sense of caring about thier opinions, they just need to use the input to judge how to spin or time what they're going to do, so as not to hurt thier chances in the next election.

Unfortunately all the bad get the news and the good ones get a short mention. A previous post mentioned the "amnesty bill", I do recall that one of the members of congress said she planned on voting for it however once she checked back with her Texas office her people said NO. So she voted against it. So whom ever she is at least one politician did listen to her "people".

Politicians have not listened to the american people for approximately 30 years now. It doesn't matter what the public thinks, politicians continue to win elections without the popular vote. Look at Bush!... He won the presidency twice now, and majority of the american people did not vote for him....... Kind of makes you wonder, what good does it do to vote!........

They really do listen, we just don't speak much. Voting is unfortunately rare, and polling is a small sample. If you want your politicians to represent your interests, write them a letter and explain what they are!

I think the fact that 80% of us opposed the Amnesty legislation last month and still it went to a vote kinda shows that none of em could care less what you think. None of em!
