how old should my gold fishes be to lay eggs?

i recently bought 4 goldfishes but i dont know there age. there just about 2 inches i some how came to know that gold fishes lay eggs when they r about 3 to 4 inches but i really want to know that how long will it take.

Goldfish can mature as early as 1 year of age. And with 4 fish, the odds are good that you have at least one member of each gender. You'll only recognize the males when they're in spawning condition, though: http://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/info/sexing-fs.htm
