i think that ( i think it was like 2days ago right?) he played some pretty great left field. he came up in the KC minor league system playing left field, so maybe its just natrual to him. he doesnt have a great arm and i dont htink center was ever his best position. i really like melky cabrera in center. do you think that possibly one day hideki matsui will play right field (or is that too hard of a switch to make?) and maybe johnny will play left? johnny cant DH for ever so what are we going to do when giambi gets back? i like phillips at first, but do you think they will send him back down to the minors and put giambi (or maybe damon) at first and have damon (or giambi?) DH? i personally think that giambi's days are over, theres no reason for him to be here anymore. how much longer is his contract? okay anyway, let me know what you guys all think about all this stuff. thanks :)

With everyone healthy it will be Matsui in left, Damon in Center, and Abreu in right. Damon is 34 years old and has struggled all year offensively but the Yankees need his experience down the stretch and they will not make a change this year. I believe there is a reasonable chance Damon won't be with the Yankees next year but he will be the center fielder for the remainder of this year. The Yankees will also give Giambi another chance at first base, or DH, but his future is somewhat in doubt and I believe the Yankees would love to dump him, and his contract at $20 million per year, to anyone who will take him.

i think damon did a great job in left field against the d-rays robbing probably 2 extra base hits that might've turn the momentum to the d-rays side in the series. I do like him in left. what you're saying is possible moving matsui to right it might happen if the yankees doesnt exercise abreu's contract. Phillips i like the way he's playing probably running for the MVP of the month for the yankees Phillips is a good fit at 1st better fielder not as good as giambi power wise but i think he's capable of hitting 20-25 HR's probably 30. Also giambi eats up alot of salary space compare to phillips and shelley duncan is pretty good at DH for the past couple of days. The yankees can trade giambi while he still have some value.

Matsui has done nothing to warrant him being him replaced in LF. Damon is playing his way to the bench because there is no place in the field for him to play. He does not look good at 1st base and Melky is a better CF solely because of arn strength. Damon is the best leadoff hitter on the Yankees, so maybe DH is best for him.

Giambi would make an excellent, although extremely expensive PH and Damon would be the same as a PR. I would keep Duncan as DH for as long as he is hot.

I think with Damon's age and mobility issues due to injuries and the fact that he does not have great arm strength would make him a better fit in left than in center. I think he is a better outfielder than Hideki and Hideki who hits for power more than Damon does would be a better choice at DH. Giambi should be put on Waivers.
