In a business scenario it is a good trait to have. But i in an ordinary day/setting, it could really be a bore and often times annoying to have everything validated to you.

Yes, this is very common in business. The person is re-iterating what you said because they want to ensure they understood you correctly. They're looking for reassurance.

Sometimes people don't even recognize they're doing it. If you reply back with, "Yep, you got it right.", then they will consciously understand that they repeated your comments.

You mean validating what you said, to make you feel that they've understand. Its called active listening. And it makes the person who is taking feel that what they've said has been understood.
