One of Romney's hurdles to getting the Rep. nomination is his religion, which Conservative Christians in the party are "concerned" about. For the most part, Democrats are much more tolerant of groups & classes. If he doesn't receive the nomination, could this be enough to sway the millions of Mormon Americans to support the other party in the upcoming Election and maybe a full "conversion"?

Romney's only appeal is to Mormons.

They will do what their cult tells them to do as much as they ever have.

Yes. It is sad so many Mormon's think Republican's in office can help them. This is false. Romney would continue the false war started by Cheney/Kissinger/Bush. He would cover up the 911 atrocities (an inside job as the planned demolition and thermite prove). He is charismatic and political but not a Prophet (nor are most leader's of the Mormon Church.) The Christian right are political and not spiritual. I would pray all Mormon's stand up to Republican's and their false beliefs (all beliefs are lies...but faith can move mountains; remember Spirit is Truth!). Under Romney a nuclear event is highly likely...never let a Mormon be President. This is a prophesy.
Christ is real and loves you unconditionally! Be the co-creator's by standing on your own two feet and make independent choices. Never let emotion or leaders turn us into sheep. (That is how hitler did it and how the Republican's have been trying to do it). We are one nation undivided if we choose it.

I think that after the repulican primary more people of different faiths will like dems mores. Some of my best friends are Mormon. We grew up together and moved apart, but I was invited to weddings, births, and even the odd opp. of going into Temple. (which you know is taboo) Republicans (most) think of themselves as pure American Christian. Others have a since of "above-ness" Mormons will, in the near future be seen as Christian. They will untill time goes by, be seen as sub-standered. This coming from someone that has many friends and family that are Mormom...and I am gay!!

Um...NO. And by the way, democrats CLAIM to be more tolerant than republicans, but they truly are not tolerant at all. At least the republicans don't claim to be tolerant, even though they are just as tolerant as liberals. Not to mention, the word tolerant in and of itself shows ignorance and a lack of understanding. Why do we to tolerate things? Why can't we move past tolerance to ACCEPTANCE...Well I digress, but the simple answer is no to the Mormon question.

They are still a conservative bunch who believe in most of what the republican party is trying to do. A prominent Mormon losing an election is no reason for them to turn away from the republican party which they for one reason or another have quite strongly supported in the past.

Not a chance. Family values are the foundation of the Mormon religion, so you'll never be able to convince the Mormon masses to vote liberal. P.S.: Democrats are NOT more tolerant of groups and classes -- they only tolerate those who think the way they think and believe what they believe. Anyone else is a narrow-minded crackpot or zealot. Isn't the hypocrisy obvious?

First is there a genuine distinction between the two events? they have distinctive rhetoric yet on significant subjects they vote an analogous. Specter became unofficially a Democrat for years besides. McCain could change to the Democrat social gathering additionally. effect is 0.

Take a look at that religion and you will see the truth about all religions .
When civil rights took hold they backed of teaching that Blacks where animals not the same as white men .
And that multiple wifes meant a problem for statehood and protection against indians and outlaws that robbed the rich all the time .
So the religion changed to meet the times .
If thats all religion is then we can do far better then the ones available to choose from .

Actually, I think that if Mormons REALLY knew, they would leave both the Republican AND Democratic parties and become Libertarians.

Just like Jews are being shun by the DNC causing a switch.

I think that even if Romney doesn't get the nomination they will still stay Republican.

Kind of hard going to a party that thinks they are evil because they believe in Biblical values.

Mormons have only been "heavy Republican" for the past 30 years or so

They will not vote Democrat, but will very likely stay home, unless some other issue brings them to the polls, like a lot of other disillusioned Republicans.
