To be honest, I do the same as you. I look at quality and price, then where it's made.

In the past I did not care where a product came from as long as it was affordable. Now, I am trying to be more conscientious about buying american made products since that translates into jobs for americans. If i'm buying globally made products that means the dollar turns over less in america and it only helps greedy corporations, not individuals trying to make a living.

I try to, but sometimes have trouble figuring out where everything I buy is made/produced. And sometimes I get a little lazy...
But I do believe in following "Moral Capitalism," which believes that it is the responsibility of consumers to help regulate the market by becoming educated on where and how the goods and services we consume are produced. If we only consider the price of a good, we open the door to exploitation, pollution, and unsustainablity.
It was Adam Smith, the "Father of Capitalism," who first described the basic tenets of Moral Capitalism when he said that the laws of the market (supply, demand, competition, and profit motive) must be tempered by what he called "Moral Sentiments". Most consumers seem to be completely unaware of this responsibility.

anyone who says that quality is a factor can't possibly be buying from china - where quality standards barely exist.
i suggest when buying products, you read the labels, you never know what you might find.
my brother was telling me of a friend who bought a coffee mug from china and on the bottom was a warning about potentially dangerous chemicals that 'may' have been used in the production of the mug.
buy from china - live a shorter and less healthy life...

Quality and price are the determining factor for me. The only thing I look at brand/where it was made is cars.
Both of my grandfathers and my father worked for GM. I kinda feel obligated to continue my support of them and the company that gave me all I had in my childhood. . .

Sorry, I guess I'm alone......I will always buy American if I can. Manufacturing in this country needs all the help you can get.
And all of you who just want cheap goods, I don't want to ever hear you whine about Child labor, slavery, Bushes evil plan of outsourcing or anything else to do with economics and the trade deficit.

I agree. I probably focus on price a little more over quality.

No.
I can't afford to buy not made in China. Sad fact is I can't afford $70.00 shoes for my four year old.
