There must be thousands of these simple-mindedly scripted films about Baseball, Basketball and (American) Football underdogs who win through at the last minute against all odds. Hate to tell you guys, but after seeing England in the last Rugby World Cup, that really puts it all into context.

And by the way, nobody outside the US (and possibly Canada) gives a damn about those games you're so obsessed with.

It's just escapism cos usually the best team always wins and poor teams who can't afford decent players always lose.

They should make films where a small, poor, badly equipped Third World team beats a massively-funded, well equipped US team with the best players and equipment in the world.

Oh, they did - it's called the "War on Terror" directed by George W. Bush

For people who don't give a damn about anything American, there are sure a lot of threads about American sports, movies, and whatever else.

Seriously, you Europeans need to focus on your own sports and not worry so much about what we're doing over here. Honestly, we could care less about anything you do, so why the obsession with us?

I don't give a damn, either, about Baseball and American Football.

Basketball, however, is more global. My favorite series about Basketball is the anime "Slam Dunk", set in Japan. I also follow my country's national basketball league whenever I can.

The obsession is sort of understandable, but not movie material IMHO. And definitely not for a foreign audience.

Spot on! You are on the money. I can't count one both hands the amount of times those films are re-made over and over and over again.

Not racist or anything but they are mainly black films as well with an underlying storyline of the man keeping the blackman down.

very repetitive and boring but - hey thats Hollywood.
