i had to use 1 the other day due to me 4gettin me mobi n it twoz well random.. people gorped at me as if to say "hell, therz sum1 in a pay phone" lol.

I havn't used to make an actual phone call in a long while, but I used to use one every weekend to clock in and out for work when I worked for Coca-Cola. They would give us a number to call (for free) and we would enter pins and press 1 to clock in and 2 to clock out. I has trouble finding a payphone to use on the "richer" side of town, i guess they really don't need them over there.

I did the other week when I left my mobile at home. There was something resembling chili sauce on the handpiece, and unless i'm mistaken a turd in a Mcdonalds milkshake cup in the corner. I think i'l send a telegram next time.

Bit of a rip-off nowadays. Should be there as a lifeline for those who haven't got a mobile or landline but unfortunately they're quite popular with the local druggies.

Last used one a year ago. I was between Vodafone's for a brief spell there. It convinced me to hurry up and get a new mobile!

yep, i still use one. i haven't ever gotten a cellphone, there fore i am not w/ the "in" crowd.
it is 50 cents for 4 minutes, on the payphones... maybe like 7 years ago, all the payphones around this piece, were a dime, and you could talk as long as you wanted to. sheesh....

Yes, especially when I am at airports. I hate cell phones, so I still use pay phones now and then, but you are right, they are becoming obselete nearly everywhere (except airports)

They have taken most of the public phones out of where I live, it is almost impossible to find one.

not really, the minumum charge to use them is 20p

they have their usage if you couldn't get a signal..

you can use some for the internet now..

but because people vandelise them and it cost them a fortune to fix, there are less about.
