Back in the day we didn't have video games, the internet, or a zillion television channels. Is technology depleting your social skills? (not to mention your waistline)

That is, increasing your waistline.

I believe it does give ppl less reasons to get out. You have the Internet to talk to friends, instead of calling them, or you text them instead of calling them (I do . lol)

TV, well even though there are so many channels out there very few actually have something to offer, exclude Discovery, National Geographic, from that useless list.

Video Games, Don't even get me started on that, it can go both ways, with consoles like the Wii it can become more of a group gathering type of thing, but most games have an addictive quality to them (my bf is a gamer)

Obesity. Well I don't feel sorry for ppl that are overweight, only if it is for medical reasons, other than that it's your own responsibility to take care of yourself. If you don't know how, then seek help , there are always ways.

No, I think people are making me more of a home body. I work in the service industry and spent most of my twenties in clubs, bars, restaurants, parties, and just a generally active social life. Now that I'm older (not much!) I prefer to be at home. I love technology because what used to require 3 hours at the library sorting thru reference material now takes approx. 10 minutes to gain the same info. Being lazy is what increases your waistline. You can even do Yoga on On Demand!

Actually, it made me a live body... thanks to technology, I don't have to die on the field to figure out if a volcano is going to erupt or not.
