Banning any kind of speech would start us down a very "slippery slope" so I would say that such actions should not be taken as a rule. It was disgusting seeing Nazi's marching in Skokie, IL several years ago, but the right to express one's views is a basic freedom. There are criteria to be met before deciding something is unprotected speech. As much as some of what you are talking about disgusts me, I would say no to a ban.

A ban would unworkable, because people can simply download it and listen with their iPods. Plus, they can email it around the world in seconds to anyone interested.
I would ban any loud car and stereo speakers, with the powerful sub woofers that blast music from a mile away. Then I'd be OK.

as much as i hate the thought of people actually seeking out and listening and worst of all enjoying those types of music, no, i don't think it should be banned. maybe negatively labeled though. i'd much rather see that your favorite; bette midler and other people equally as awful were being banned.

Banning solves nothing. People should be able to make their own decisions about what entertainment they want to expose themselves to. I mean, I don't want to listen to Britney Spears, so I just don't buy her stuff and change the channel on the radio if she comes on. I don't need someone telling me I can't listen to it, I'd rather make the choice on my own.

Nope, it's freedom of speech. If stores or radio stations or record labels (or whoever) want to ban them from their establishments, that's fine.

Definitely not. Mass censorship just creates more interest. Banning something just makes it more popular.
Music is like TV if something offends, turn it off, don't watch, dont listen.

You want to be careful about slinging around censorship - it has sharp edges all over it, and it might cut something you really do not want cut...
