I want to sell it. Not the entire thing just the CPU, so I wanted to know what I am selling. All I know is that it is an IBM desktop...is there anywhere in/on the computer I can find this information.

Right Click on My Computer and Select Properties it will take you to the System Properties(Will Give you RAM, Processor, Version of Windows, etc.).

Also, go to My Computer and single click on C: and it will display the total disk space. This will tell you your hard drive capacity. Round up to the nearest 10th for spec purposes (part of the memory went towards the operating system)
For Example:

would be a 40 GB hard drive.

Start by getting the Model number. That is normally displayed on the outisde of the case in large letters.

The other three things most people are interested in are processor, memory and hard drive space.
Go to the Control Panel and click on the System icon.
It will open a page with info about the computer
Near the bottom right will be both processor type and memory
Write down those number

Now go the Desktop and click on the My Computer icon
Right Click on the C: drive (Hard drive) and select Properties
In the middle of the window will be a pie chart that shows the ard drive. Above it will be the total capactiy
Write down that number - then run it up to the nearest "5". (So a 38.6 Gig would be 40 Gig, or a 72.5 Gig would be 75 Gig)

Finally, note if you have a floppy drive, Cd drive, DVD drive, burner, etc.

With the model, processor, memory, hard drive and other drives you should have the imformation to list the PC on ebay.

Bring up system properties from control panel (or right-click My Computer and select properties) and you'll see what processor you have, how fast it is, how much memory your computer has and what operating system your running. Then, open My Computer, right-click your C: Drive and select properties. You'll see capacity which is the size of your hard drive.

Go to IBM.com and there should be a place to put in your serial number and get the specs. Of course, it won't have any mods you've done to it since it was purchased new but it's a starting point.
