I do have the odd occassion to use my cheque book, yeppers. I have an english and a seperate Irish account. So I may wish to send money into england or have even paid a fellow brit over here by cheque, which he then paid into His brit account.

Fact is, when ye dealing with larger ammounts of money and there's no heated rush, a cheque's as good as anything and few private individuals are set up for accepting payment via plastic.

I still have a check book that I use occasionally when I need to mail off a one time bill, Or if I want to pay for something that I would like a reciept for and they don't take Visa, I'll use a check instead of cash. I never trust anyone giving a handwritten reciept for payment. For the most part it's all plastic.

I have absolutely no idea where my cheque book is - it's in the house somewhere, but I hate writing cheques and will avoid doing so at all costs. I find it much easier to use my card, or pay online.

Used my cheque book twice in two years to settle bills. Use a debit card at all other times. No credit card. Most local stores and larger stores no longer accept cheques in payment. They are on their way out .

I use all three methods cash, cheque and card depending, my garage doesn't have a p.d.q machine so when I get work done on my car I pay with cheque.

I only use plastic to withdraw money from my bank.
Prefer to pay by cash in shops & cheque by post.

90% plastic. Use my debit card mostly because it is more convenient, plus I get my change added to the savings account. Do most of my shopping and bill paying on line.
The only trouble is I keep misplacing my card all the time. Senior moments, ya know.
