We got married a month ago and went on our honeymoon to the Dominican. Of course we needed to get our Hep A shot (we already have HepB) and we will need to get another HepA shot 6 months from the first shot (in december). We are talking about trying to conceive within the next few months. I will be making a doctors appt soon to talk about pre pregnancy health, but just wondering if anyone knows anything about Hep A shots and pregnancy. ?

it's no issue since it's not a live vac.
I also took the shots as I started ttc and it was an advice of my gyn since we were going to travel to the Caribbean. He knew that I was ttc and he recommended the shots.

The Hep A vaccine is made from an inactive form of the virus (it isn't a live vaccine) so most doctors agree that it is probably safe to use while pregnant. But no studies have actually been done so no one can be certain. I doubt that your doctor will give you the second shot if you are pregnant when the time comes to get it. But I believe there is a 6 month frame of time in which to get the second shot--anywhere from 6-12 months after the inital injection so it if you happen to be pregnant at the 6 month mark maybe you will have already delivered before the 12 month mark and can go ahead with the second shot.
