NO! A good military man is trained to control himself in every situtation! I am married to an Air Force man and he is the most calm, reserved person I know. He's never raised his voice to me or our children!

Military men and domestic violence ?
I dont think so. My dad's in the armed force. There is not even 1 moment where he burst his top off. But i have seen some families, whose breadwinner is a military men, being in domestic violence once a week . However its pretty obvious why. Because that man is a habitual drinker. A womanizer. Conflicts within the family.

Military men are slightly more prone to all forms of violence.
Statistically, most men who join the service are not profound pacifists and are at least open to the idea of employing violence. The military teaches men to employ direct, aggressive action to solve problems. Boot camp is intended to breed a simmering anger that can later help men kill total strangers.
However, most men in the service are highly disciplined and very decent...its just that, like any other collection of people, the military has a small percentage of scum.

I think it depends on the person, my boyfriend of 2 1/2 yrs is a Naval Aviator. He has been trained to control himself and not overreact in stressful situations. He is the most mentally stable person I know and highly disciplined. My boyfriend and many of his military friends are also dog lovers and have a very gentle loving side to them.
I came from a abusive marriage (not military) and my ex was and still is very unstable and irrational at handling life's obstacles. My boyfriend has type A personality and is used to being in charge and giving orders. However, he is not controlling, he definitely has a calm way of being a good leader. He gets bossy sometimes but so do I:)

Not normally. What you see in the statistics are people who marry too young, have too many bills are separated too much of the time and are exposed to mental and physical trauma.
Put your average C.P.A. through the same stress and the number of bean counters that abuse their wives will go up also.

It's very possible. I don't know if there has been a study done on this - but it's possible that men & women who have fought in wars could have a mental problem with this. Good question.....
