People are looking and waiting for the Democrats to give them a reason to vote for them, but, none have came forward with up front answers. They are vague about " what they would do" and the people are wondering if they even have a clue.
Hopefully, we can get a candidate who is mainstream American, can do what is right to finish Iraq and win, then make our boarders safer, which the people want, and the biggest thing, fix Social Security.

I think the better question is: "How many Republicans will leave the country if/when a Democrat wins the presidency?"
So many Coulter Republicans have been squirming and complaining ever since Bush won in 2004, because they refuse to believe their party could be responsible for the mess this country has gotten into. (Hint: the Republican president let al Qaeda return to its pre-9/11 strength levels and the party's record on national security is abysmal.)
If a Democrat wins, Coulter Republicans will run crying to the nearest embassy to leave. Bet on it.

If a good and intelligent Republican wins the election, I won't mind. If another Bush get elected, then I will be severely disappointed.
Edit: I find it funny that all the conservatives have to chime in about how the liberals and democrats will whine and hate it if a republican is elected. Then you see all the liberals and democrats saying they wouldn't mind if it was a good candidate. Sort of shows the maturity level and urge for hatred doesn't it?

Not being a liberal, I cannot speak for them. But....
If the person elected follows the laws (rather than breaking them at will) and follows the constitution (rather than ignoring it at will), then their political party will only matter as far as whether that president is enacting the kind of social programs they like.
The #1 issue is NOT national security for everyone. Some people are far more concerned about the erosion of civil liberties, and trampling of constitutional checks and balances, and the criminal conduct of specific individuals.
You may think national security is your primary issue. Fine. That's your choice. But that's not what everyone in the whole country believes.
And as to partisan politics -- if there is a conservative in office who tries to force religious and personal morality down everyone else's throats as a matter of law -- then yes, liberals will oppose that. Not because the person belongs to any particular party, but because they oppose ANYONE who tries to mandate social behavior.
That's their core platform, just like mandating social and religious behavior seems to be part of the core conservative platform. So of course, if someone is doing something that you oppose on political and philosophical grounds, you'll oppose that person. That's the nature of politics.

As long as they are not a card carryin gmember of the "coalition of the willing" (AKA war corporatism strategists in the guise of God-fearing men) I have no problem with a Republican President. I would like a president that put the people first rather than the corporations that fatten his own coffers.

Democrats have "faith". Faith in an 18 percent approval rating is insane. There's still plenty of time before elections for the Dems to blow it even worse than they are.
We don't pay their salaries for crap like non binding resolutions and amnesty for lawbreakers.
Who's less intelligent- Pelosi,Reid, or the people who voted for them?

You dont have what it TAKES to make me "feel good".

Your democrat/liberal bashing is unchristian and hostile.
THATS the truth.
The #1 is issue to stop wasting our lives in Iraq.
And on National security our back door is wide open.
Republicans will pay for the mess they have made.
So yeah, if that drag queen Guilani gets in, I'll be just fine!
But our security might not be!
