I'll be staying in Paris for 5 days. During this time I would like to visit Per-Lashez cemetery. Is it in Paris or outside the city limits? How long it would take me to travel there?

You have the sound right, but the cemetery is written Père Lachaise :). It's a beautiful, peaceful place, and really nice to stroll around a bit. It's pretty easy to get there, there's a metro-stop nearby (line 3, stop called 'Père Lachaise -> easy to remember ;)).
I once rented bicycles when I was in Paris. A great way to discover the city and I came to see the cemetery that way. You can get a (free) map of the city in big stores like La Fayette and La Samaritaine.
Wishing you a great trip!

sIt's right inside of Paris on the east side of the city. It's a beautiful cemetery, but were surprised by the open vaults that go straight down to the coffin. Be careful of rats and be sure to visit the graves of Chopin, Champollion, Jim Morrison and Bizet.

The cemetery has its own metro station: Pere Lachaise, which means that from most of the town it will take no more than half an hour to one hour to get there.
(I have not been to Pere Lachaise myself, I just go on the info of my guidebook here.)
It is on two lines, a connection station. One going form Porte Dauphine to Nation (nr 2), the other from Pont de Levallois Becon to Gallien (nr 3).

Yeh, like the others said, it's Pere Lachaise. And you take the metro. The place is huge, and quite hilly, so I'd suggest good walking shoes and a bottle of water. I could've easily spent the whole day there.
