If it wasn't so bleedingly obvious this would almost be funny!

I mean, we're calling the Iraq people terrorists but early Americans would be called terrorists but it seems we have forgotten that little bit of history!

You assholz know what I'm talking about! Americans revolted from the British, they said no you people cannot govern yourself and they came over and declared war on us. We were the insurgents, or terrorists, like we call the Iraqis.

The tactics used by the American revolutionaries and the modern terrorists differ drastically. Furthermore, neither side saw the conflict in such terms. The British viewed it as a bunch of idiots refusing to pay their taxes. The Americans viewed it as a move to protect their rights from British tyranny.

Americans didn't attack citizens, just the army and people representing the control of the colonies. They also didn't attack outside of their own states. Terrorists specialize in attacking the countries they don't like. Also, we call most of the Iraqis in Iraq insurgents or part of a civil war. Foreigners who come to Iraq in order to attack the US military are called terrorists.

Very true!
And we were called dishonorable, traitors, all sorts of things.
I still understand why the British called us that as well.
Still understand why we call the Islamic terrorists.
It is obvious. We changed the rules of war on the British.
They've changed the rules of war on us.
I still side with us.
Are you suggesting we take up their tactics?
Or they give them up?
It helps if you get past the "quick historic point" phase and follow the thought through.

Wow, that was a stretch.
I guess my history books left out the Parts where the Founding Fathers, blew up British Buildings in England, and her allied countries.
And swore to kill all that did not believe the way they did.
Do I get 10 points now?

Was all ready to make a point but see that 500 people already put you in your place....always an idiot trying to compare something like this to people who cut journalist heads off for just being in the wrong place. people who kill civilians on purpose. people who wait until kids who havent had fresh water in a while gather at a newly opened water well to send in a car packed with explosives.
They are cowards and so are you for even coming close to siding with them.

Actually, I don't recall hearing how we murdered women and children on a daily basis to get our freedom.
I haven't read a terrorist declaration of independence, listing reasons for their murderous ways.
And you are a total a55 if you think there is any similarity.

In response to people's rebuttals above, early Americans didn't attack innocent British citizens, but they did attack innocent Native Americans, Africans, and others, forcing them off their land, killing many, and forcing them to submit to free labor.
Sounds similar to many things we denounce today...
