everyone I've asked has said yes, i going to watch the Simpsons movie - even if they don't really watch the simpsons. i this is true everywhere, i recon that this will be the biggest movie so far?

No. In order to be the highest grossing movie of all time it would need to make over $600,788,188, what Titanic made. Even though all the people you have talked to said they would see it, a movie like the Simpson's is going to have a somewhat selective audience since it is an animated cartoon and the subject matter is not appealing to families, older adults 40+ (well there are probably some), etc... Where as a movie like Titanic had teenage girls and adults alike running to the theater to watch it, and thus brought in over $600 million.

Possibly. There are a LOT of diehard fans of The Simpsons who will shell out not only to see the movie in theaters, but will also turn around and buy it on DVD when it comes out in a few months.
It'll be interesting to see how it does.

I have talked to alot of people about this. Some people really want to see it, but they want to wait till it comes out on video. It doesn't seem good enough to go to the theater for.
The movie itself I do not think will come close to being the most successful movie ever (in terms of money).

Nope...not even close. The fact is that you can watch "The Simpsons" on TV for free every day (in reruns) and every week (in new episodes). This will hurt its business somewhat. I think the movie will be successful, but I doubt it'll even cross the $100 million mark. Many people will not pay to see what they can watch for free.

That guy who doubted it would cross the 100 mil mark is retarded. This movie is going to be huge, possibly not #1 but up there. Its been built up for 2 decades now and is one of the greatest shows of all time, how could it not be a hit?
