Do you have to cross through border patrol to get there?

Is it great?

Is a 1 year old too young to bring there if you have a back pack carrier?

Are there decent campsites with electric and water hookups?

Thanks!

There ARE some Border Patrol checkpoints on the roads outside the park. http://www.nps.gov/bibe/planyourvisit/uscbp_checkpoints.htm

It used to be acceptable to cross to Mexico over the Rio Grand/Bravo, that is no longer the case. It is very illegal. http://www.nps.gov/bibe/planyourvisit/border_crossings.htm

I was there twice. Loved it both times!

There are hook-ups. http://www.nps.gov/bibe/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm

Even with a backpack carrier, the baby will require special attention to avoid dehydration, etc. You may want to contact the park directly to ask for further info about border patrol, illegal activities through the park, etc/

only if your coming from Mexico will you have to go through a border check . . It is the most beautiful place in Texas . . there is soooo much to see we we're there for a week and still only got to see a small portion of the park . . there are nice campsites but they book up early we booked almost a year in advance partially cause we went at Christmas break . . if your strong and willing to pack your 1 year old. . .
