I have a 1993 Dodge stealth, now I'll be moving to canada soon. Would I be able to keep this car without having Daytime running lights installed?

If I must convert, is there a shop where I can do this? Note: I have pop-up headlights.
Does anyone know the legal issues and any shops that do this near toronto.

I love this car and want to keep it

If you are moving, your car has to meet all specifications required of vehicle of that year, including, but not exclusive to DRLs required in Canada for vehicles starting with the 1990 model year. You have to legally import the vehicle, you cannot just drive it across the border, and go through an inspection at Canadian Tire before it can be registered. There is a special form for the inspection and most people just have the required modifications done at Canadian Tire so they aren't running all over the place. More information is at this site. Do not wait until you reach the border to check it out, you will be sitting there for days.

You have to ensure your vehicle is on the accepted list, and ensure all recalls on the vehcicle have been acted on, proving it with a recall letter. It is all at the website.
U.S. Customs requires notification of all self-propelled vehicles being permanently exported from the United States. Their regulations state that at land border points:
1. The required documentation must be submitted to U.S. Customs at least 72 hours prior to export; and
2. The vehicle must be presented to U.S. Customs at the time of export.

I assume that you would be required to follow the law in your new province. DRL isn't that hard to do but you may want a U.S. Dodge dealership to install since the Canadian wiring harness is a bit different and the shop in Toronto may not have appropriate wiring diagrams.

Cars that old already have turned to rust up there. You can run with low beams on. I don't think 1993 cars in canada had DLR'S
