No but something catastrophic will happen if u do respond. Idiots will think you like chain letters and keep sending them to you. Throw it away quickly.

Quite the contrary. I have an inflexible rule: If any of my friends send me a chain letter, I e mail them immediately and tell them that the next time they do it, I will cross them off my list. Those letters are stupid ,and in some cases unnecessarily hurtful..
All that is going to happen if you throw it out is that there is at least one piece of paper that is not floating around anymore.

I have thrown away all chain letters that I have received and never bothered to forward any except for those that have interesting photos, and the worst thing that has happened to me is that I saved money on postage stamps.

If you believe it will happen, and that that chain letter is true and hold power, you can will or make the threat come to pass. It's all in your mind.
Like some folks who read horoscopes, they make the horoscope come to pass by believing it will happen and then being not as focussed/cautious.
Toss it out and carry on, they're garbage...

HA HA, that could explain my bad day's I have had. But why have I had so many good ones as I have never answered any of the ones that I got I just tossed them because they were stupid.
