I have a 2Wire 1800 DSL modem/router connected to my PC via the ethernet cables/jacks. There is also a USB jack on the modem/router. Will I get a faster connection using the USB jack, connected to the USB 2.0 port on my PC? I tried it, and my PC recognized the modem/router as "new hardware", but could not connect.

If there is any advantage using the USB, how do I set my PC? Or, should I just stick with the ethernet connection?

Ethernet is faster. No advantage to using USB.

No, I don't think you'd get a faster connection over USB. If anything, I'd expect it to be slower. Just stick it in the ethernet, that's what it's designed for and it leaves your USB free for something else. Good luck!

you have 2 innovations... fee with regard to an analogous. one million. on the spot: purchase a on the spot router & on the spot adapter (in the experience that your man or woman pc would not have one) 2. under pressure: A. in the experience that your cable modem has 2 LAN connection factors, purchase long Ethernet cable for each own pc. B. purchase a router with 4 port change (4 LAN connectors). Use those factors to connect the pcs. I even have setup a on the spot community at my dwelling house. I actually have a printer linked to my on the spot community so i will print on the spot.
