Reports say Russell's agent and the Raiders are in constant communication but a deal has not been finalized just yet. Look for Jamarcus to sign a deal with about 25 mill in guaranteed money. Personally, I wish he'd hurry up.....Calvin Johnson's contract will basically be based on Russells. Johnson's agent wants more than Russell because he was regarded as the #1 player in the draft.

No, because in the article on the Steelers signing their pick at 15, it mentioned that he was the first pick in the top half of the first round to sign.
So therefore, Russell hasn't signed.

No not yet but everyone thinks that Russell will sign and that they all think that he will get 30 million dollars in guaranteed money.

no, very few first round draft picks have signed thus far, some will hold out and some will be signed once it is guage how much money should be given. it all kinda depends on his agent on how his contract goes but it might be a while because he is the #1 pick

Only three players have signed so far--Staley, OT for 49ers; Olson (-sen?), TE, Bears; and Timmons, LB, Steelers. I would seriously doubt a plausible hold out, though.
