Ankylosaurus. Fossils of Ankylosaurus are found in geologic formations dating to the very end of the Cretaceous Period in western North America.

You're almost certainly thinking about one of the two branches of 'ankylosaur' - either an ankylosaur or a nodosaur. There were a few of the older and related stegosaurs hanging around in the Cretaceous, but (a) they weren't really very armored, and (b) they don't get much press. The Ceratopsians (Ceratopids?) often had some variety of neck frill, but that was only debatably protective, and in any case, that was about it as far as body 'armor' went.

They are the ceratopsian dinosaurs.
Including Ceratops, Triceratops (probably the best known).
