Certainly that's debatable, but to each his own. People should start taking credit for solving their own problems instead of giving credit to a bunch of rock stars who have their own issues and perhaps more than regular folk. Why do people pick those band to listen to? Simple. If the only food you ever ate in your life was McDonald's, you would consider it gourmet.

I would say that people listen to those bands because they like their music and their lyrics. And some people heard of them before they were "mainstream losers." Some of those bands do have a good message, but some of them don't. I know music can't help me through hard times, I would need something much stronger than that. People have different opinions, you don't like those bands and other people do.

As for the bands that you listed, well, it doesn't matter that they're mainstream, they're just talentless hacks. Right now, false "rock" music is what's popular in the "scene," so there's bound to be a bunch of s-h-i-t-t-y bands that are going to come out and ride on the coattails. I mean hell, pseudo-punk, indie acts are marketable nowadays and make record companies a ton of money. And because jackasses buy their "nonconformist" lies and actually believe that these overly produced, music-ruining brainless morons have artistic integrity, they are going to continue to sell.

But honestly, when have people not listened to crappy music?

It's not about these bands being mainstream, because music is music. Music is an individual enjoyment that's to be listened to and respected INDIVIDUALLY. It shouldn't matter who listens to them, who doesn't listen to them, what they wear, what they don't wear, what they look like, what they don't look like, etc.

You LISTEN to music, you don't watch it. And if a band you like is mainstream, well, f-u-c-k it. They are something you enjoy listening to. You don't have to uphold some false image for listening to what's in the "underground." There's no pride for listening to music, I mean, hell...you didn't create it. You're just enjoying it.

Out of those bands I only like FOB. I don't like them because, their are popular right now and because thats what everyone else likes at the moment. I like them for their music. I'm tired of people putting them down because they are mainstream or whatever.

If you don't like them, don't listen to their music and stop insulting them.

Sorry, but I love Green Day. Yes, their latest album was much more mainstream (some people say sellout) than any of their previous, but they've been consistently putting out great albums since, what, 1992? As for the others you've listed, I couldn't gove a rat's about any of them. Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear...

I can't stand any of them, although Green Day USED to be a great band. They were actually around in the late, late 80's and since then they've had awesome music till they fell in with this mainstream sh*t.

well, I like some of mcr's stuff because it's decent rock, reminds me a little of the misfits. fall out boy's take this to your grave was my favorite album for years, they have great vocals and and strong drums. panic! was just amusing when their album first came out. red jumsuit just sucks, they're boring. green day had some really really good pop punk songs.
there's nothing wrong with liking a catchy song.
and really what are you listening to that's so "effing" hardcore? rancid?
and your use of "homos" is deplorable, unless you're suggest that sameness of the bands listed, but you're obviously not.

I listen to them because I like the way their music sounds. If I like a song, I listen to it, no matter who sings it.
As for them being mainstream losers, it's a matter of opinion, and everyone has a right to their own.
I'm sure people could ask you the same thing about whatever it is that you listen to.
So get over your little immature ranting, listen to what you like, and quit insulting what other people listen to.

I liked fall out boy a lot until they became sell out boy. take this to your grave is still one of my favorite albums.

I like mcr b/c I like their sound and their lyrics. Fob is ok, their sound is different and it sounds good. I don't know who are p!atd and rja. I don't listen to green day much.

But I like other bands like: System of the Down, Korn, Linkin Park, Flyleaf, Three Days Grace, and Breaking Benjamin to just name a few. Plus people like different music, don't hate on the bands just b/c they are mainstream and making money.
