Hi.
I was wondering if there is such a board game as Maharaja.
We play it at home but I am not sure if it is popular around the world.
You play it on a chess board and it is 80% like chess. One of the sides plays with 16 pieces, like normal chess. The other plays with the Maharaja. It is a lonely queen that can move like a knight as well. It does not have the problem of checks etc. Its task is to put checkmate to the opponent king (since it can move like a knight as well, it can put checkmate on its own).
The other opponent's task is to conquer the Maharaja, which is not easy though.
The question is if such a game exists. Maybe the name is different. Do you know any such game?

I'm pretty sure a game like that does exist. I put it through a search engine and a got a couple of results but I'm not sure which you're looking for. Anyways, try searching for it:
