If you want to swim you will have to use a tampon. If you don't want to use a tampon then don't swim. Put on a pair of short shorts and wade in the water, just getting your legs wet. It kind of sucks but pads don't work in the water. Trust me though, tampons are fantastic, using a tampon makes it like you don't even have your period.

Start using tampons. You can swim without one. Water does not stop a period. If you don't wear a tampon you will end up bleeding in the pool. Talk about embarrasing!
If you don't wear tampons, you can't go swimming.

I was like you when i was younger... i had my period for four painful years before i started using tampons, because i had tried but i just didn't feel ready to use them. Finally my family went on vacation and i told myself i wouldn't miss out so i locked myself in the bathroom for an hour and took my time getting used to them. They take a few tries to insert and one trick and to rub some vaseline (only a little) on the tip of the applicator as a lubricant. Just take your time getting used to them... they really are amazing and eventually using them is a complete piece of cake.

Tampons aren't that bad. Try the slender ones.

You can go swimming with it. I did and I didn't leak.
