I understand that veruccas are impacted warts which is why you usually find them on your feet. I therefore feel it is unlikely. Are you sure they are not just warts?

It probably is a splinter that's just gone a bit bad,you can probably see a black dot in the middle,well thats the splinter.

In the case of sign language definitely. For people who communicate better via computer or writing than speaking that could be true. Let us never lose the art of face to face communication which includes conveying emotions, reading body language, listening to tone of voice, listening to the words and meanings, and speaking.
