Most people I know are paying close to $570 a month just to have good health insurance and when it comes time to needing a special test such as a CT or MRI, it won't pay for it. You basically have to fight the insurance company to get them to pay anything? We pay just as much for health insurance as we do for a house note.

Actually I am talking about both. I know some people have good insurance through their jobs but most people I know still get quite a bit deducted from their paychecks just to pay for it.

First not many people take care of themselves properly.
So the system is overloaded. I work in a nursing home and it is nothing to see under 50 year olds admitted all for complete disregard for their health. Obesity and drug/alcohol abuse is the prime reason for this. Both are neglect of a person's health.
Second no one is controlling cost. It is profit greed in perfect form.
Lastly the responsibility of full payment is on the uninsured. who obviously are not financially well off or they would be able to afford insurance. So bill goes unpaid or takes a long time to pay off.

Health insurance is a scam. In the 1950s, before anybody had health insurance, everything cost about 10% of what it does today (inflation adjusted). A normal child birth was around $150, for all expenses, including doctor and hospital.

One, because any government regulation is all about giving the health insurers and drug companies guaranteed, easy profits. And, number two, because we all get to pay for under-insured patients. Doctors use a variable rates database to assign billing amounts (they have to).

Because they have to do surgery, operations, computers, fileing and all kinds of stuff. They have to work very hard and then you got to recover. Then after that they fix it again. It depends on which kind of health insurance you are a member of.
