Can you define real lesbian? Cause for the last 24 years I have certainly thought I was a "real" lesbian, I would hate to be disappointed now!
I am not sure if my girlfriend and I classify as your "real lesbian" category, but we manage our relationship just like any other couple. We both work to pay the bills, raise our 2 beautiful children, take care of out dogs, spend time with our families, communicate with one another, spend quality time with each other, stay true to ones individuality yet celebrate our relationship as well, stay honest at all costs. I am sorry but I am not sure what misconception you are under about "real lesbian" relationships but they are the same as all relationships... they take time and a lot of effort but with love anything is possible!

Um... maybe by having open lines of communication, building and MAINTAINING trust, constantly evolving & never becoming stagnant & boring, doing little things to remind the other person how much u love her, taking time away solely for each other, keeping each other encouraged, staying passionate/romancit and remaining faithful.
That's how my girlfriend and I have kept our 2 yr and 4 month relationship going strong.

its easy. Just the same as heterosexual couples.
My current relationship has lasted 4 years so far and we manage perfectly.
We shop for groceries, pay rent, manage our bills, go out to dinner, go to parties, go clubbing, make each others lunches for work, go to our families houses for thanksgiving, watch movies, walk our dogs...
If you are mentally stable and have a genuine connection with someone then you should have no problems keeping a relationship.

Just like everyone else--communicate, trust, be honest, and be independent.
