I am relocating to Los Angeles. I would be new to the area and I would like to go there with a strong direction without spinning my wheels. Thank you in advance

People in L.A are very busy. The more you inconvenience them, the less likely they will want to give you the time of day to showcase your skills. One suggestion I can offer you is to extend them the courtesy of considering their time. An idea would be for you to put your skills on tape. Record yourself performing a skit or doing a commercial of your own creativity and making a few copies. Send them to the agencies that you are most interested in and they can view them at their convenience without you getting on their nerves. Good luck and I'll see you on T.V.

Everything in the entertainment industry revolves around
The Talent Agent.

If you do not already have a Talent Agent lined up and ready to work with you, I recommend that you contact everyone in the entertaiment industry in the city where you live.

You will need them to to help you get an appointment with Talent Agents in Los Angeles.

Make sure you have excellent training as an actor.
L.A. does not have time for amateurs.

You need a very strong, resume with a lot of lead roles,
in the plays in which you appeared.

Join the extras guild so you can make sure you find out about open auditions. Buy the newspaper "Variety" to find cattle calls. Not all agencies accept walk ins so don't try to go cold calling it usually doesn't work. Go on studio tours like at Universal Studios. You would be surprized how many people are discovered.
