no it won't interfere with your phone at all, the surge protector is not required but its a good idea to protect your computer from electrical surges, and the jump drive is not required for Internet but you will find yourself using it a lot for transferring files from one computer to another.

The only thing you need for Internet is the Ethernet cable, you will likely need to download the school's security software when you get there, but there's nothing else you need to buy.

Most colleges these days provide a full network connection. They tell you that you need an ethernet cord so that you can "Plug In to the college Network". That network will have probably one of the highest speed internet connections you have ever experienced!

That line is seperate and unrelated to the phones totally different.
You will need to be sure you computer has an ethernet adapter. (most do but check, it is an 8 pin plug like a large phone plug).

Good Learning!! Have FUN!

High speed Internet is not connected to a phone line, so no interference there. Most schools have the high speed access available so with the ether wire you should be set.

all you need is an ethernet cord with rj45 at both ends...don't mistaken it with rj11(rj45 =with 8 copper lines and rj11=usually for phone line with 2 copper lines), a network adapter in your pc and a simple UPS to quickly save ur files, paperworks in case of powerloss at school...

hmm...a jump drive can be very handy... for transferring files...
