In Northern Virginia, Loudon County in particular, there is a real immigration issue. The area has expanded drastically under Bush's War economy and many illegal immigrants built the infrastructure the residents use daily, the homes they live in, the stores they shop in, and the recreation centers they play in.

Do the folks in new exurbs like Northern Virginia even care who physically built their community? Now they are banning illegal immigrants and their children from parks and libraries, free services to the public.

Does this seem fair or unfair? Is it right?
What do you think about this, there must be other places in America with similar situations.

I don't condone illegal immigration, but it takes years to gain citizenship, I think. It seems like cheap labor is exploited and then they are treated like criminals.

I'm not saying illegal immigration is right, and I also worked in construction up to a year ago and I worked side by side illegals all the time, especially Northen Virginia. I'm saying there's something wrong when it's ok to use their labor to build your town and then exclude the very people who physically built said town, that's all.

truth : i wish i could email you.

Yes War Economy is exactly what has built up Northern Virginia. There has been thousands of new jobs in the area in the War industry. I'm not a "lib" and, since your name is "truth" you should know these truths.

I don't want to deport anyone, just don't want non-taxpayers to get free stuff. I don't want anyone to get free stuff but definitely not non-taxpayers.

"War economy" eh? I've seen that elsewhere on Y/A, is that the talking point this month? Is that the excuse? Is that the latest thing you libs have come with to try to get out of crediting the tax cuts with the sound economy?

The USA takes in more legal immigrates every year than any other country. There is a set guide line to become a citizen of this country and to be here in other ways. But to put someone to the front of the line to become a citizen just because they came here illeagally is wrong. We have to control our borders we don't know who is coming across the border how many terrorist could be coming across the same borderas the Mexicans. And why does the government not what to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, maybe because they employ more of them that any one else in this country.

In my town there are a lot of hard working Hispanic people that donate a lot to the economy and have made a better life for themselves. They are , for the most part, very nice folks. If I find out they are illegal I will turn them in.

You say that they are exploited then treated like criminals.

The exploitation is the fault of the companies hiring them, and the companies should be fined or shut down because they are committing illegal activities.

But anyone in this country illegally is committing a crime, and therefore is a criminal.

And by the way, my husband, born and raised in the USA, worked construction in the summers while he was college 20 years ago and he helped build our home and the others in our neighborhood. He and a lot of other college students.

Study the definition of illegal in a good dictionary. Then you should understand why illegal immigrants who commit illegal acts every day are justly treated like criminals.

they were paid for their labors , and one hell of a lot more than they would have made in Mexico, so don't give me this B.S. they were or are treated badly, and try going to the emergency room some time it is so full of Illegals and welfare recipients it is not even funny, what about their children's free education that they don't contribute the first penny to? there are so many freebies here fro them sure they like it here until they get some good old American money so they can go back to Mexico in Style,

Here, on the US-Mexico border, they didn't build our home and we do all our own work. However, they HAVE lowered the working wage dramatically and closed several hospitals. You think that's right? We should keep letting illegals come and do this to US citizens? I was under the impression that a country's citizens should come first, but maybe that's a crazy idea.
