my landlady serve my court papers right away after she sent me my 30 days didn't even have a chance to make plans everything happens really fast and having 4kids is not really easy looking for a place hopping if i show up to court i can ask for extentions to find a place.being my court date is this comming monday i still have all my stuff and have to wait for payday to get a strorage unit i'm really getting depressed...

Yes, best thing to do is show up to court to tell your side of the story why you are late with rent. Maybe he will see it as a legitimate excuse. It's obvious you cannot afford the place. You should try applying for subsidized housing or get a job that pays more. Good Luck !

You can inform the court that you received a 30 day notice to quit (notice to move out), and that you intend to comply with that notice.....

The court will likely dismiss her suit on the spot if all she's asking for is an order of eviction. If she's asking for money damages, then her lawsuit is independent of the eviction.

If you need more time than the 30 days, then calmly explain your reasons to the court, and have an alternate date when you think you'll be ready to move.
