The latin name is Pseudotropheus socolofi

I myself don't know but what i do know is that fish all grow at different paces, either depending on what they eat or even Genes.

My big 26" clown knife was 9" at 12 months old, while the new one i got is 14" at 12 months old.

Ditto to Sir Ghapy here, he is correct on this. Bonding pairs simply indicate if the father (male) will care for the fry of if the mother (female) is left to watch over the young. A bonded pair just means both mother and father are active watching over fry and they pretty much mate exclusivly. Outside of that, a bonded pair means very little to this situation. The real problem is that you have taken her out, and now if you put her back in, she is going to be treated like a new fish and a stranger. You're going to need to set up a new tank to be honest. If you put her back in that group after she spits her fry, she's in all likelyhood going to be attacked and harassed because she was seperated from the group. Probably should have just left her there, she'd take care of herself and fry, but oh well too late now, can't do much about that, but please don't put her back in if you want her to live, get a small 10 gallon set up for her and the fry. JV FOLLOW UP: Side point I'd like to add after consutling with another cichild keeper, you can rearrange the decorations and plants in your tank to attempt to reintroduce the female back to the general population, that does help.

Like most fish they do grow for most of their lives, and this is really how long it takes them to reach 'full size'. But since growth slows immensely as they get bigger, you can say that they'll reach 'near full size' within about 3-4 years. At 2 inches, he's probably ready to breed, or close to it.
