I saw it on tmc it was a coming of age story about a boy's summer. his name escapes me as well as any of the other charchters but his neighbors were these hillbillys with dogs that barked all night that his father hated. at one point during the summer they went to the worlds fair where the boy bought a spinning top to battle another kids spinning top. in the end he went fishing with his father and they caught all these fish and he his father and his fathers friends told dirty jokes that he didnt get and finally his mother pulled him out of the room b/c it was getting to r-rated. he had a brother and a pet gold fish as well.
well hopefully someone will be able to decipher my breif synopsis with many holes and give me a title, hopefully.

... the film that you're talking about, is the rarely-seen sequel to the now-classic holiday film, "A Christmas Story", called "My Summer Story", from 1994 (aka "It Runs in the Family").
Although the film featured the same characters as it's holiday predecessor, all the characters were recast,
...my favorite scene in the film, involving Ralphie's mother, and some gravy boats, was gut-bustingly funny!!!
