360 since the earth being round, if you go around it, you will come back to the place from where you started if you follow a circle parallel to the equator. And a circle is divided into 360 degrees and on the earth's surface, the degree east of Greenwich, London is referred to as the longitude and the distance from the equator is expressed as latitude (towards North Pole as degrees N, and below the equator as ...degrees South.)

The total Number of degrees longitude has already been stated.
But there are in truth an infinite number of longitudes. I live at 77:33 west longitude for example. there is a small village next to us which is at 77:33:52 west longitude.
Every place in the world has it's own longitude.
Try to figure out what your own exact longitude is.

Longitude starts at 0 degrees at the Prime Meridian. Eastward, it goes to +180 degrees and westward it goes to -180 degrees. Just like there are 360 degrees in a circle, there are 360 longitude degrees.
