The very best and easiest would be something you're truly interested in.
Pretty hair? What is your hair like, what are some challenges to keeping it pretty, what do you like and dislike about caring for your hair?
Boys? Are there enough nice boys to go around? Are boys hard to find or talk to? Do you wish boys behaved differently?
What other things are you interested in? Whatever you select, in the body of your paper be sure to ask and answer the questions: who, what, where, why, how?
By picking a topic you're already interested in, you won't hate having to think about it and talk about it in an interesting way.
Best wishes.

The Death Penalty in the USA.

The reason I say this is because it has been hashed over so many times that there is literally TONS of information about it on the internet.

You will be able to find out everything you ever wanted to know with very little effort and take all that information and really write an essay that covers both sides of the issue.

The really hard work like statistics and case law has already been done for you, all you have to do is search it, print it and compile it.

It should be something you know about and something about which you have some strong opinions or feelings.

How about: the war in Iraq, abortion, politics, why you hate Harry Potter books, Barry Bonds chasing Henry Aaron's homerun record, a particular school rule you dislike.

Don't forget, you're going to have to state an opinion (thesis) and then use facts to show why you hold that opinion.
