Yes, I was 6 mths pregnant when I started applying for jobs last year. I got a job in a shopping centre promoting a big thing the shopping centres were running. I had to sit on a stool which was hard, but I only did it 2-3 days per week. Funnily enough (looking back now) my waters broke 6 wks early at that job and I drove from the shopping centre to hospital and stayed in hospital until a week later when my baby was born!
It was a 12 week temping job and I was into my last 2 wks when I left suddenly! There was no discrimination and it all comes down to whether you are doing a good job. During my time there I got pregnancy diabetes, so I had to deal with that and the sitting down all day. I also had to phone someone when I needed to go to the loo as I wasn't meant to leave my post (I did leave as you never leave a pregnant woman needing to go to the loo either!)

I wish I could be. My degree & expierence puts me working with kids, residental setting kids which can be aggressive. I quit my previous job because I was on bed rest for 3 days, when I came back I was wrote up for missing 3 days in a row (even with a doctors note, only days I'd missed in months & even with those 3 days I'd only missed 5 days my entire time there) & told I needed to "work through the whole pregnancy thing & stop being an inconvience." They were stressing me out so much I was having physical symptoms & was too scared to miss days to go to the doctor, so my husband finally talked me into quitting. Getting a job use to be no problem at all, until now I've never applied & interviewed for a job & not had it offered to me. But now that I'm obviously pregnant, with my field, I'm too much of a liability for organizations.

Its really hard trying to get a job while your pregnant because of the morning sickness and pains and an additional 8 weeks off after being hired.

I worked at a nursing home before I found out I was pregnant. I actually took the test while I was at work one day and all the girls I worked with were happy. Eventually my Doctor put me on a lifting restriction because I was getting a pregnancy induced hernia. I gave my employer the doctors note and sure enough later that day I was told that since I couldn't lift anything more then 15lbs they no longer had a position for me. The irony is that the facility I worked for is listed through the state as a "no-lift facility." Needless to say I never went back!!

Yes! I am 18 weeks and just got offered a part-time teaching job. I am excited because it is perfect hours for when the baby comes and my hubby and I wont be as stressed about money! It is possible to get hired...they are not supposed to discriminate against pregnant women. Good luck!

I was hired for a customer service position at a credit union, BUT I didn't tell them I was pregnant untill after I was hired (I was only about 8 weeks, not showing) I dont care what anyone says companies will not hire you while pregnant (Not all, but most), even though they wont admit it, they'll jusy come up with some other reason or excuse!

yes; but it was mcdonalds. hey, it was easy, it was close to home, and it was a paycheck. it can be VERY hard to get hired during a pregnancy; and not im kinda stuck; im showing, i wasnt planning on going to work now, but my husband took a pay cut and we cant afford for me to stay home; so i need to work. and cant find anything. i cant even get an interview b/c when i turn in the app they see im obviously pregnant. the most likely places will be fast food and such; they have so many people come and go often with teens working there, i think its b/c they arent worried about losing the time and money to train; heck when i was there, me being pregnant lasted longer than the kids i was hired with.

Yes. I was hired at shop rite when I was pregnant. Yes it was a little job but I wanted paychecks rolling in so I went with it. It was a good job experience for me. A lot of places won't hire you though because they don;t want that liability that's why you should apply before you are showing and get hired before your showing.

Yes, I was hired at six months pregnant with my first child as an administration assistant/receptionist. I took about two months off to have my baby (left work a week before giving birth) and returned to work with baby in tow part time afterwards.
