My mom who is about 43 is having some health symptons that are really starting to scare me..

She has: a stiff and painful neck for two days.
swollen fingers and hands
a rash running down her arms starting at the shoulder.
a rash around the top of the thighs.

What could this be? Is it serious? I should also mention she has recently tried to quit smoking and is cutting down on her cigarettes per day. Could this be a key factor?
Help please!

I really doubt that cutting down on smoking would cause those symptoms. Your Mom should see a doctor ASAP. It sounds serious to me, especially the stiff neck.

Hope everything turns out ok for her.

Your mom should get to a doctor quickly. The rash and swelling sounds like an allergic reaction and combined with the stiff neck that is really concerning. Take her to the doctor immediately!
