There are two parts of these "firefighters". There is union leadership, which favors the Democrats. (Don't all unions?)
And there are the individual firefighters themselves.
By all accounts, Guiliani keeps getting cheers from these firefighters, while Hillary Clinton gets booed off the stage. The latter has happened a few times now, but the mainstream media refuses to play it. You have to get this from radio or other media sources.

Guiliani is there as a vote sap for the new york senator running.
he doesn't seriously expect to be elected.
Mitt Romney is the man who will probably win the republican nomination.
