well its sort of a state. there system slow down kinda like ours when we sleep. they are in a suspended aninmation. hope i helped.

Yes. I guess so. I used to looked at my fish at night time or during the day . I thought the fish was dead so I starred and found was so still. and didn't move at all . I sort of moving the water a little bit and once it notice I was watching it. It moves so at night time I went to check it and I quess it does sleep.

Fish does sleep, but in a different way, not like human does
it always stay some spot of your tank like coral or some Lil cave of rocks to stay there and rest, that how it's sleep, not close eyes like human, otherwise it close that mean it sleep forever and never wake up

I think so... I had two 10 gal. tanks in my room and when I woke up at night the fish would be kind of still and they stayed in one spot. They would move their fins a little to keep in place. In the morning after I turned on the tank lights they would start swimming around like normal.

YES! my dad has a saltwater fish tank and they sleep like in the coral or behind a rock.

yes! fish sleep! they can aquire oxygen while in a still position unlike sharks that should kip moving so that they can get oxygen. fishes sleep but they dont have eyelids, so they look awake all the time.

yes they do, we dont realize this, as we presume their eyes to be always opened, but yes they do, the find a comfotable surface especially in dark and sleep their

yes at night they rest at the bottom of the tank or in plants ect and lay still.
