Y STANCE IS THIS...IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE OBESITY EPIDEMIC GO DOWN THEN STOP MAKING OBESE PEOPLE AFRAID TO LEAVE THEIR HOUSES BY INSULTING THEM AND MAKING THEM FEEL UGLY...
compliment and encourage them to take better care of themselves,better yet be their buddy and invite them to go for walks with you.Allot of obese people are lonely and starved for love and thats why they overeat others do not even overeat at all but have medical problems that complicate weight gain.

I so agree with you. People need acceptance for themselves and the content of their character not based on size, shape or looks. What dull world if we all looked like Barbie and Ken.

My husband is obese and I cant wait for his next cardio appointment. I hope the h...l he gets tangled up with the dietician. He will not move off the couch from Friday evening to Sunday night. He wants his meals pronto one right after the other and to graze in between. I got mad about it last night and decided if that is the way he wants it that is the way it will be...I do not have to stick around and put up with it.
I could see this if he did not have the resources to do things but he wants to dwell on his dead fathers ???? birthday that occurs in July and we are the butts of his anger. His father was not idol. He was an alcoholic.
On the other hand, he has a cousin who has heart problems and the guy around me is cherry and upbeat....
I am sorry for all the people who want to keep their weight-loosing it gradually and keeping it off is worth the effort and reaping the rewards of ease of doing things; presentation; and finally doing something for yourself!

People feel badly about themselves, that's why they make fun of others. I had an extremely beautiful student, who had a rather homely mother and sister. They teased and tortured her because she wore a size 2, not a size 1 like they wore to the point that she tried to kill herself. (In their culture, the "Olive Oyle" look was the pressure to which the women bowed.)I totally agree with your statement...

People don't take the time to figure out why someone's heavy, depression, medical, whatever. They figure go for SHOCK VALUE. ("Maybe if the fat person really DOESN'T KNOW they have a weight problem, well, I just better shame them and call them names.") Way to go!
